Relative Humidity - Sensors

RH Sensor : EMD Series
General Eastern purchased Phys-Chem Scientific Corp. for their high quality resistive sensor. Now General Eastern manufactures those same high quality sensors in their own facility. First, there was the EMD-2000 sensor, known for its tight accuracy and strong resistance to chemicals. The EMD-2000 is joined by the EMD-3000, which offers not only high accuracy but also improved hysteresis and a compact size. Both sensors are bulk polymer RH sensors that change resistance as the relative humidity changes. Now, the EMD-4000 is capable of withstanding environments where organic vapours are present. It recovers from condensing environments and may be used at temperatures up to 185°F (85°C)

Capacitive RH Sensor (Calibrated ), G-Cap-C

The GE Industrial Systems' G-CAP&template; 2 Relative Humidity Sensor is a low-cost, polymer capacitive based sensor, factory calibrated to within 1 picofarad (pf), +/- 3% RH accuracy. The result is an RH sensing element with uniform calibration and interchangeability among sensors of better than 3% RH. Competitive RH sensors, in contrast, have varied by as much as 40% from unit to unit. These wide variances require time-consuming calibration that adversely affects manufacturing costs and scheduling. For this reason, the G-CAP&template; is ideally suited for high volume applications, reducing the time required for final assembly and production calibration. Savings can also be appreciated from the simple and low-cost circuitry required for the G-CAP&template; sensor.
